We Are Words + Pictures are a group of comic artists and writers who promote the medium at fairs, festivals, club nights and workshops throughout the UK, alongside our quarterly Paper Science anthology.
Formed in 2008 by Matthew Sheret and Julia Scheele, WAW+P has worked with over 40 creators in the intervening time on live events, anthologies, bespoke workshops and publications. We have published five issues of our Paper Science anthology – with the generous support of Newspaper Club – alongside a radio show hosted at Wilton’s Way Cafe.
We Are Words + Pictures cater for a variety of outlets and events, and have in the past exhibited for Josie Long, Thought Bubble Festival and The ICA.
