After a wonderful indoor “picnic” last weekend, WAW+P is back to its old tricks with a drop in workshop at the Hypercomics Fayre at Battersea’s Pumphouse gallery this Sunday (22 August).

We’ll be focusing on creating our own comic characters, drawing inspiration from our mobile library to decide what they’ll look like and how they’ll act. If you fancy creating your own Chloe Noonan, Scott Pilgrim or Spider-man, or you just want to have a quick doodle, drop by. And if that’s not tempting enough, the trinity of Philippa Rice, Howard Hardiman and Timothy Winchester will be on hand to offer tips and ideas. More information can be found here.

The fayre is the summer edition of the Comica festival’s Comiket, a showcase of small press writers and illustrators selling their wares. And if you’re not quite sure what a hypercomic is, here’s a definition:

“Hypercomics offers the spectator an interactive choice of multiple storylines, each giving different perspectives on the same character, place or event.”

See you there.
