As he was down in London to talk at the Thrilling Wonder Stories II event, we grabbed a coffee at Wilton’s Cafe with superstar comics writer Antony Johnston, the co-creator of Wasteland and current co-writer of Daredevil – although WAW+P fans may know him from his titanic contribution to our bearded overlord Matthew Sheret’s Phonogram vs the Fans ‘zine project.
Kicking off with chilling shards of noise from the Silent Hill soundtrack, and ending with Motorhead’s world-conquering anthem ‘Killed By Death’, Antony runs us through his eclectic musical choices, while chatting with show host Michael Leader about the position of the writer in the comics creative process, his experience writing for the Dead Space video game series, and his frequent appearances at symposia and conferences around the world, sermonising on the art of comics.
Plus, the usual news, events, and comics recommendations.
